vapefly jester review
The Vapefly Jester Pod Kit is the company’s first pod system, and thankfully they have decided to buck the trend and bring a little innovation.

The Jester Pod Kit may not be the first to offer a rebuildable pod system by the time of release (it seems that honor may go to the Smoant Pasito), but it will be the first to offer a rebuildable dripping system.

The Jester will be available with two different style pods. A regular pod which utilizes either a 0.5-ohm mesh coil or a 1.0-ohm coil, and the second which has a rebuildable build deck on top with the reservoir beneath (much like an?RDTA).

The standard Jester Pod will use replaceable coils which screw into an adjustable airflow base. However, it’s currently unclear whether the rebuildable base will also feature adjustable airflow.

The pods will have a 2ml capacity and will both feature a top fill system using a simple rubber plug beneath the mouthpiece. The rebuildable deck will also give you the option to drip straight onto your coil by removing the mouthpiece.

The pod is held in place by clips, and there are release buttons on either side of the device.

It seems like at the time of purchase you may need to choose whether you want the Meshed Edition or Rebuildable Edition. Even though you’ll be able to buy the other pods separate, it would be good to see an option to have both in the kit.

Correction:?It seems the Rebuildable Edition will also come with the regular pod and 3 coils in the kit, good work Vapefly.

The Jester Pod Kit also brings with it a 1000mAh built-in battery, and also adjustable voltage. There are three output settings of 3.3V (purple light), 3.8V (blue light), and 4.8V (green light) – 3.8V.

The Vapefly Jester Pod Kit is currently available with some out-there colorful designs of Jester, Joker, Skull, and Ghost. A standard Black and Silver version will also be available.

I really like what Vapefly have done here; they haven’t tried to re-invent the wheel but have come up with a clever design to use a decent sized build deck in a pod system.

The fact that the build deck sits at the top of the pod should bring great flavor, but those that have used an RDTA before will know that correct wicking is going to be essential for the best experience, and leaking might be an issue.

It’s also great to see that the rebuildable option is not exclusive, and having the ability to use a standard pod with replaceable coils is an excellent move.

Having variable power mods included will be important for getting that perfect vape, especially with the variety of builds you can use in the pod.

I’m not overly keen on the loud and colorful designs on the sides of the device, but the all black with carbon fiber does look pretty slick. It’s also nice to see a more traditional form factor and not another re-hash of the Orion walkie-talkie style design.

Don’t be fooled by the name; the Vapefly Jester looks set to do more than just entertain, it seems to be quite a full-featured handy little kit.
