I got the call from Steve Kesling of adventure charters out of Edmonds. He has been the one to catch on his both both Picasso's and the yellow eye in the central Puget Sound. He had two seats for the final day of rockfish ESA test fishing. Jeff Gomes met me at the marina this morning. Scott led molder was there too and we fished one of his old hot spots out of Port Susan. We started off in Mukilteo and I think Scott put 2 copper rockfish. We then moved up to his old stomping grounds in Port Susan. Scott ends up doubling over the road and catches a really nice lingcod. So we finally found his spot of 30 something years before. Next ride down Scott pulls up a big Boccaccio rockfish. he had two seats for the final day of rockfish he is a test fishing. This just made the trip. This is the third Boccaccio caught in the test fishery and way bigger. The fish was in great shape and we put it on the fish to sender and we put it down. Next it was a quill back rockfish and then a canary rockfish. We fished with Nick again who was one of the biologist from National Marine Fisheries Service. It was a great day with some great fish caught water was awesome. To ward off any and all fishing closures.
